VOICE OF THE VET HONORS ATTORNEY PETER PALIVOS
On October 8, 2019, Veteran outreach organization Voice Of The Vet honored attorney Peter Palivos with an award of Appreciation for Service. Palivos has handled pro bono work for veterans and their families, largely involving disability claims, and any other issues which affect current and retired members of the United States Armed Forces. Voice of the Vet handles communications and community outreach to over 218,000 Nevadan Veterans and their families. Bob Maxwell, CEO of the organization, presented the award to Peter.
“For many years Attorney Palivos has fought to protect the legal rights of many Nevada Veterans and their families,” said Maxwell. “Because Peter has faced many injustices in his own life, he has always been empathetic to the problems of others. Therefore, Peter has done pro bono legal work for hundreds of Veterans and their families.”
Palivos’ work with Voice of the Vet began when the organization requested legal advice from him in 2017-2019. He assisted with their needs pro bono and has since established a partnership with the Nevada-based group. Palivos is also involved with other Veterans’ groups, including Forgotten Not Gone, Vietnam Vets, and Wounded Warriors.
“I do this because Veterans have done a great deal for our country and they mostly get shortchanged by the system,” stated Palivos.
Palivos has also assisted Voice of the Vet through his philanthropic efforts, helping veterans pay their rent, medicine, and other expenses.
