~ IN MEMORIAM ~

“Sadie”
Rest in Peace “Our Hero” and Bob’s Service Dog
Sadly, Sadie passed 22 November 2025 (complications from Cancer)
Always in our hearts and on our minds. Her spirit lives on

Sadie, a remarkably brave and intelligent service dog, has already proven herself in a dramatic lifesaving scenario alongside her human, Bob. In a harrowing incident, Bob experienced a perilous fall down a steep slope, resulting in three broken ribs, a severely bruised pelvis, and unconsciousness after his head struck a tree with force. In the face of this critical situation, Sadie emerged not just as a loyal companion, but as a true hero. She steadfastly remained by Bob’s side, her barks piercing the silence in an attempt to summon help. Even though they were in a fairly secluded area, a few people later reported hearing Sadie barking but could not determine the location of the barking.

When Bob regained consciousness, he found himself unable to move his lower body, the intense pain signaling the severity of his injuries, and his cell phone lay frustratingly out of reach. Demonstrating extraordinary intelligence and understanding, Sadie sprang into action, retrieving the phone and bringing it within Bob’s grasp. With Sadie’s help, Bob was able to call his best friend and Voice of the Veteran Co-Founder Marcel and Fire Rescue arrived for the assistance he desperately needed, and he was transported to the hospital with three broken ribs, a severely damaged pelvis and a concussion.

Sadie’s actions that day went far beyond the call of duty, showcasing the incredible bond and partnership between a service dog and her human. Her quick thinking and unwavering devotion not only saved Bob’s life but also highlighted the invaluable role that hero service dogs like Sadie play in our lives.  Rest in Peace Our Larger than Life Hero!

Rest in Peace our Brother!

Marcel Forestieri was a beacon of integrity and compassion, whose profound insights into the nature of non-profit work have left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him. With a career in entertainment spanning over five decades, Marcel dazzled and delighted audiences as an actor, singer, comedian, and the first-ever “Elvis Impersonator” known as “Lil EL.” His exceptional talent was recognized by none other than Elvis Presley, leading to an unforgettable visit to Graceland. Lt. James Abram
Voice of the Veteran Ambassador
U.S. Marine Corps Veteran
U.S. Army Veteran
Vietnam Veteran

James Abram was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Marines, saw action in Vietnam and is one of the biggest Patriots you will ever meet.  James met Voice of the Veteran’s Tami Rouse in 2019 and Tami helped James get his VA Disability Claim that he was trying to get for over 50 years.  Tami helped him get a 100% disability rating when others either failed or gave up.

“My attitude is… give back to those who gave to me, and I donated to their efforts since they depend on donations to survive, and they do not charge for their services. Voice of the Veteran took care of me.”

“I stop every vet and tell them about this organization and urge them to call Voice of the Veteran. Too many of my brothers and sisters don’t know what to do about their claim. I have heard horror stories about going to lawyers and the VA declining them. Whatever Voice of the Veteran says they do, they do. They will take care of you.”

“What surprised me was that they kept me informed and answered my questions, that to me is number one. Do I recommend them.. Hell Yes! If you are having problems with your VA disability claim, call Voice of the Veteran.”

We are totally convinced that James is the Gold Standard as an Ambassador and we are over the top proud that he is on the team!  He is always on the lookout for Veterans and with his enjoyable and energized personality, people love to be around him.  This Hulk of a man tells Veterans, “don’t make me pull rank on you, get your butt over to Voice of the Veteran and let them help you get what you deserve”.  James talks and people listen.
